Welcome to the Allegiance website for APL Medical Plan participants. The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory is excited to partner with Allegiance Benefit Plan Management, Inc. (Allegiance) to administer the APL Medical Plan. Allegiance is a third-party administrator focused on accurate and timely claims processing with a strong commitment to outstanding customer service. As partners, we will work together to provide a high quality health plan to APL staff and their eligible dependents that includes a robust national network of providers through the Cigna Open Access Plus (OAP) network. The Laboratory offers the following medical plan options:

• Open Access Plus PPO (OAP) for staff. The OAP plan offers both in-network and out of network benefits with no requirements to select a Primary Care Physician or obtain referrals for specialists. This option utilizes the Cigna Open Access Plus network of facilities and healthcare providers.
• Comprehensive Plan for staff who reside outside the OAP service area.
• Retiree Open Access Plus (OAP) for retirees who are not eligible for Medicare. The OAP plan offers both in-network and out of network benefits with no requirements to select a Primary Care Physician or obtain referrals for specialists. This option utilizes the Open Access Plus network of facilities and healthcare providers.
• Retiree Comprehensive Plan for non-Medicare eligible retirees who reside outside the OAP service area.
• Comprehensive Plan with Medicare for APL retirees who are eligible for Medicare.
